Siobhan Creaton: It would be foolish to think worst is over for the banks

FINANCE Minister Brian Lenihan is hoping yesterday's decision on Anglo Irish Bank will end the two-year nightmare, but it would be foolish to think the worst is over for Anglo or Ireland's other financial institutions.

That the Government has at last made a decision is a relief at least.

We now know that Anglo Irish Bank will disappear at least in name and will be carved up into two new banks operating independently.
