Sinn Fein: where does the money come from?

From Review front Fianna Fail TD Conor Lenihan says: "This is how they win votes in big, urban housing estates. In 1994 and 1995, when west Tallaght was over-run by drug dealers who were openly selling drugs to children, a lot of Sinn Fein's work was seen as very positive. Sinn Fein TDs have a reputation for sorting out thugs."

The IRA is also deeply involved in organised crime. On March 8 this year, the Taoiseach confirmed that the Provisionals had been involved in crime in Dublin port. The paramilitary group is the island's biggest smuggler of tobacco and earlier this year hijacked a lorry of cigarettes on the main Dublin-to-Belfast road.
