Rugby's weird media grip made a mountain out of a friendly
I'm not a rugby man – just never got the attraction. But I'm not petty. When Ireland won the Grand Slam, I felt genuinely happy for good guys like O'Driscoll and O'Connell.
However – why the Sam Hill did that New Zealand match dominate the airwaves so much? It was a challenge. A friendly. Doesn't matter if rugger people rebrand them as "Tests", capital T, this was a non-competitive fixture.
It didn't mean anything. By all laws of sporting contest, it can't mean anything.
