Role reversal of the old E&E double act
Former star performer Eamon Gilmore is now playing second banana to Enda Kenny, writes Willie O'Dea
AS the Government takes its summer break, Enda and his press people will take some considerable pleasure and delight at his particularly high poll numbers after five months in office.
It is a very comfortable position for any Taoiseach to be in, especially as they face into more trying times in autumn and winter. Enda can afford to spend some of the PR credit chips he has built up on getting tough decisions made in the second half of the year.
Spare a thought, however, for the fast-becoming forgotten man of Irish politics: Eamon Gilmore.
