Paula Mullooly: Tolerance of casual sexism in society is no laughing matter
Just like racism and homophobia, it is not acceptable to turn a blind eye to sexist behaviour
The last couple of weeks have really been an eye-opener for those of us who had hoped the war against sexism had been won.
The irony is that the worst thing about the casual sexism we have recently witnessed is not in fact the sexist behaviour itself but the tolerance of it in our society.
The recurring theme seems to be that if you complain about sexism, then you are clearly a member of the humourless pc brigade or an overly sensitive drama queen.
