Noirin O'Sullivan is an ambitious and highly capable woman who clearly wants to make history by becoming the first ever female commissioner of An Garda Siochana.

From her young days as a gutsy undercover cop tackling heroin dealers on the streets of Dublin she had the ability to make her way in a traditionally male-dominated police force.

The mother of three is articulate, well-educated and has experience working in practically every area of policing from anti-terrorism and organised crime, to human resources and forensics.
