OK Bertie, just where did it all go wrong?
JUST a year ago we were all marvelling at the shocking effectiveness of the lean, mean, Fianna Fail electoral machine. But that awe has turned to shock. All those sharp edges and coherence have turned into a hopeless lack of focus and lots of blather.
During the general election campaign voters were subject to Fianna Fail's relentless efficiency, as they hammered home the "daily message" and convinced the electorate that they were the ones to choose.
A year on and their more recent efforts seem pathetic in comparison. In the Dail yesterday Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny highlighted the ?20m spent by the Government on public relations since its return to office.
