Not so 'all-white' for leader in waiting
Alex White cannot afford to have any more lapses in judgement, writes Daniel McConnell, Political Correspondent
The exposing of Labour minister Alex White last week over his lobbying on behalf of his daughter was most unwelcome and utterly unnecessary for the man who has ambitions to lead his party.
White, it was revealed by the Irish Mail on Sunday last weekend, had stupidly sent an email from his Oireachtas account on behalf of his daughter, seeking to have her student medical placement switched from Letterkenny to Sligo "for family reasons".
This incident is the first major controversy Mr White has been involved in since taking up office and while it has not become a resigning matter, it has raised questions over his judgement.
