New leader in North took express route to top - Mary Lou must be watching very closely

In an epilogue for his newly republished autobiography, Gerry Adams writes about a new generation - post-Good Friday Agreement - that wants politicians to focus on the future, not the past.

He says they back the business sector, commerce and civic society in willing the North to step out from the shadow of violence and embrace the modern world.

"For others, the old stalemate continues," the Sinn Féin president argues, while accusing the unionists of trying to "delay or dilute the progressive change".
