Michael Brennan: Kenny rhetoric on FF 'collusion' won't help deliver a fair inquiry

GERMAN Chancellor Angela Merkel was in the mood to display some of the steel which has made her the most formidable political figure in Europe.

Her description of the "contempt" she felt for the actions of the bankers on the Anglo Tapes somehow sounded far more damning than anything we would have heard at home.

But Taoiseach Enda Kenny – often accused of having to kow-tow to the all-powerful Ms Merkel – appeared determined to outdo her.
