NOW that Giovanni Trappatoni has given every Irish football fan what they wanted most and promised Sunderland sensation James McClean his seat on the plane to Poland, planning for June and our first major tournament in a decade can begin in earnest.
For the majority, that means making sure the fridge is stocked and the TV licence is paid. And how bad is that in reality? Not bad at all. It's been far too long coming and June is going to be a month of soaring excitement for our starved fans, no matter what.
However, for the lucky minority (a minority of thousands, nonetheless) who will be boarding planes and boats come June, Poland promises to be an adventure of a lifetime.
