Lise Hand: You won't pen Enda in with questions on lost sheep
THE Fine Gael parliamentary party were milling about the back terrace of the hotel, waiting for their leader to appear in their midst for a doorstep interview with the assembled media.
It was lovely and sunny, albeit a bit nippy in the blustery wind. So everyone waited and waited – as is the norm when it comes to a Taoiseach who appears to be congenitally incapable of punctuality – until the sun went in and the rain came down.
"The sheep are all heading for the pen," observed one reporter as the deputies and senators legged it indoors for shelter. "They'll be all back out when the shepherd arrives," swiftly retorted one of the party handlers.
