Lise Hand: Enda's stubbornness comes from Mum
It's not all high-powered foreign globe-trotting for our travelling Taoiseach. He recently took a poignant trip down memory lane while on a visit to Mountbellew, Co Galway.
He was in local school Colaiste an Chreagain, which was celebrating its 80th anniversary, and was presented with a folder of his late mother Eithne's work and letters from when she was a teacher in the school from 1939 to 1942.
As was the law at that time, women employed in the public sector had to retire once they married, so having wed Enda's father, Henry Kenny, whom she had met in Mountbellew, she was obliged to quit her post.
