Katie Byrne: Absurd policy brings new meaning to fashion police

THE last comprehensive dress code I was given came with a book list and a report card. And even then -- at 17 years of age -- I baulked at it.

No doubt female staff at the Mid-West Regional, Croom Orthopaedic, Regional Maternity, Nenagh General and Ennis General Hospitals felt like they were back in school when the HSE presented them with a 10-page dress code earlier this month.

No doubt the male members of staff who like to wear "skin-tight clothing" were up in arms too.
