John Drennan: After years of 'sorry', FF must return to boot and bile
Martin would do well to learn from the forcefulness shown by Collins in the Dail.
In the past, the performance of Fianna Fail in opposition used to bring to mind the old saying about Munster rugby being informed by 'boot, bollock and bile'.
The GAA equivalent is the policy in tackling to make sure you got 'both man and ball'.
By this, we mean that FF in opposition took no prisoners and was characterised by a ferocious hunger to get back into office. Though such a policy was occasionally negative, it did at least have the effect of keeping governments polite.
