THE Budget for 2013 is not too far away, but we are none the wiser as to how the Government will punish us next year. Between tax hikes and spending cuts it must save €3.5bn to appease our paymasters. After this we have two more hair-shirt budgets to go. But it won't stop there.
The rosy picture they paint of our success from export-led growth is keeping us on life support. Global recovery might have created some of the half-million jobs we need to get back in the game. The world is heading deeper into recession and the EU is responsible for a large part of the problem.
