ANYONE who examines the results of our general election six months ago and compares them with the results of our British neighbours' last general election can see an intriguing contrast.
In the UK, people wanted a Conservative government or a Labour government or a Labour-Liberal Democrat coalition. Almost nobody wanted a Conservative-Lib Dem coalition. But that was what they got. The election results dictated it.
Here, we voted for a Fine Gael-Labour coalition and got it. The election results dictated that as well.
