ENGLAND had the match all but wrapped up when they racked up 328 runs. Then Ireland lost five wickets for a score of 111. No way out -- until Kevin O'Brien hit a century off 50 balls.

Bangalore 2011 has been compared with Stuttgart 1988, when Ireland beat England at a different game. Some think the upsurge of national spirit that followed Stuttgart contributed to the birth of the Celtic Tiger.

Sadly, things are more than a little different in 2011.
