MEALY'S A VICTORIAN library suite of mahogany bookcases is estimated to sell for ?30,000-?40,000 at the sale of 850 lots of fine art and antique furniture to be held by Mealy's, Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny, on Tuesday next.

Other fine furniture includes a pair of Irish demi-lune harewood, satinwood and marquetry commodes by James Hicks, estimate ?20,000-30,000; Regency brass inlaid mahogany and rosewood drum table, ?8,000-15,000; Irish carved white statuary marble mantelpiece, c.1780, ?17,000- 25,000; and a pair of Irish Regency gilt mirrors and consoles, ?10,000-15,000.

Paintings include a portrait by Sir Martin Archer Shee, ?8,000-12,000; James Maubert (1666-1746), portrait of a lady, ?6,000-9,000; landscape attributed to Thomas Sautelle Roberts, ?8,000-15,000; and an c18 Irish landscape, Ashford, ?15,000-25,000.
