How TV doctor put Kathleen back on road to recovery

IT was heartening to see the indomitable junior health minister Kathleen Lynch bustling about Leinster House this week, fully recovered from the serious illness that landed her in hospital at the end of July.

In what turned out to be serendipitous timing, Kathleen became ill while she was touring the flood-hit Letterkenny General Hospital and ended up in the Intensive Care Unit being treated for septicaemia.

Happily, she's made a full recovery – and her sense of humour remained intact.
