WE always remember our first time – the first time we went into a record shop and bought our first record. For me, it was Town Called Malice by The Jam in The Sound Of Music in Dundrum Shopping Centre when I was 14-and-a-half.

"The first record I bought was Get It On by T Rex in Disk It in Finglas Village in 1971," says singer Gavin Friday.

"My first record purchase," says Peter Devlin of The Devlins, "was Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick by Ian Dury and The Blockheads in Carlin Records in Newry in 1979. I was 10."
