Bouts of speckled spring sunshine peppered the boats moored in Dun Laoghaire harbour this week – a seasonal harbinger that the gloom of winter is fading fast and the hope and energy of a new springtime is at hand.
It being a midweek day, most of the more salubrious yachts were holed up in port, bobbing softly at their moorings, untroubled by any rancour from an incoming tide. It was a scene of tranquillity and ease.
The disparate walkers on the pier, the somnolence of the Irish Sea, and in the distance the comforting vista of the Dun Laoghaire ferry steering steadily for home, all fused picture perfect together.
