Gerard O' Regan: Fears that 'stroke politics' is alive could well be costly for Coalition

TWO of the country's most unlikely 'cute hoors' were outed in the last few days as charge and counter-charge fuelled the often farcical James Reilly saga.

Leo Varadkar and Lucinda Creighton, with their modulated vowels and well-cut suits, were, we hoped, a kind of beacon for a new political order.

They certainly cut a different dash to the prototype shifty Fianna Failer, who over the decades unashamedly brought ''stroke politics'' to a near art form.
