AFRIEND was biting her lip on Thursday morning. Her son is "doing" the Leaving Cert. Admittedly he's number three, so she's been through it before.

Her problem, though, is not that she is close to a nervous breakdown from having to suffer his tantrums, while his brother and sister threaten to leave home unless the brat catches himself on, and mum doesn't stop treating him like some kind of hero.

What had her a little uneasy was that instead of having tantrums, he keeps telling her, "mum, it's only an exam. It'll be fine".
