Departure could pave way for exodus from bench

WHEN historians pore over the carcass of the Celtic Tiger, they will find few redeeming features.

But one positive legacy they will not be able to ignore is that carved out by High Court judge Mr Justice Peter Kelly.

Judge Kelly, the former "children's champion" who became the first judge assigned to the Commercial Court when it opened its doors in 2004, presided over resolution of big-ticket disputes that resulted from the chaos left by the Celtic Tiger years.
