David Quinn: Nit-picking over public health has gone too far

This is uncharted territory for me, but I find myself in agreement with Labour on the subject of drinks advertising.

Roisin Shortall, the Labour Minister of State at the Department of Health, has come up with a range of proposals aimed at making our relationship with alcohol a tad less dysfunctional than it is.

The most controversial proposal is to place restrictions on drinks advertising and to phase out sponsorship of events by drink companies.
