Criminal godfather could lose millions in elaborate money laundering scheme
IRELAND'S biggest international drug trafficker stands to lose millions of euro if the Cypriot bank system collapses this week.
Criminal godfather Christy Kinahan, the Dapper Don, and his associates were nervously watching as the government in Nicosia bartered with the European Central Bank.
Cypriot banks have been teetering on the brink for a week – which is bad news for Kinahan (56) and his international criminal empire. They have been using front companies based in Cyprus for the movement of millions of euro as part of an elaborate money laundering operation.
