Community courts will help address capital's low-level ills
In business, perception is reality and in reality Dublin is one of the safest capital cities in the world. This is borne out by the actual crime statistics.
However, the public perception is that our city is unsafe.
We have had considerable media coverage of quality of life and anti-social crime in the city centre. Low-level offences such as vandalism, anti-social behaviour, intoxication, criminal damage, drug use and drug dealing, assault and theft erode the positive experience of our capital city and create an atmosphere and perception of an unsafe environment.
