Colette Browne: Feminism isn't passé, Susan – many battles are yet to be won
FEMINISM is dead, long live feminism! That's the garbled message from actress Susan Sarandon, who has publicly renounced the word if not the ethos.
Apparently, feminism is suffering from something of an image problem or, more specifically, a semantic one. The word is 'toxic'.
Instead of conjuring up images of equality and fairness, feminism is now sullied by associations with vituperative embittered crones who view men with the same level of disdain that most people reserve for rodents.
