Christopher Howse: No more rainy nights in Soho for Bernards
Oliver Bernard's death marks the end of a unique set and of an era, too.
The drunkest man in the Coach and Horses, Soho, said to me, with an intonation of wisdom: "Don't mess with those Bernards." That was 30 years ago, but already it was too late.

Boswell just remembered more. Jeffrey, the youngest, died first, in the same week as Diana, Princess of Wales, and Mother Teresa.
