Cheers as McCann enters Hall of Fame

A-list figures from the world of arts and literature flew into Dublin for a lavish lunch at Four Seasons Hotel on Tuesday to celebrate the 2005 Hennessy Literary Awards in association with the Sunday Tribune.

Maurice Hennessy, descendant of Cork-born Richard Hennessy and head of the legendary brandy company, flew in from France while Jim Sheridan jetted in from New York with wife Fran to see good friend Colum McCann inducted into the Hennessy Literary Awards Hall of Fame.

Colum, who also returned from New York for the ceremony, was cheered on by parents Sean and Sally McCann, his brother Sean along with his wife Freda McEnroe and sister-in-law Alexandra Da Carmo of the Irish Museum of Modern Art.
