'She had so many special qualities that it would be impossible for me to fully explain how good a person she was", is one of the comments made by John McAreavey about the woman he adored.

And certainly, from the love that poured forth from family and friends in the wake of the tragedy of her death, Michaela McAreavey was an exceptional young person.

So much so that she really should have been too good to be true: a natural beauty, a pioneer, a devout Catholic, an Ulster Rose, a talented schoolteacher, a devoted daughter, sister and friend, a passionate fashionista who often looked as if she had stepped out of a Vogue catalogue. I remember watching her on the Late Late Show with her daddy, Tyrone manager Mickey Harte, and thinking I should really dislike this Little Miss Perfect but she's a genuine angel; her radiance, goodness and honest love of life is infectious -- who couldn't love her?
