Call centre closures expose gaps in local knowledge

Right Care, Right Place, Right Time: It's one of the pledges of the HSE's ambulance service – but too many recent incidents have seen paramedics dispatched to the wrong address.

The latest resulted in an ambulance that was called to a housing estate in Tralee in Kerry being sent to a location of the same name in Cork city.

The HSE has insisted that all protocols were followed and a baby's death was not due to the delay in response.
