A businessman who says he is owed €852,000 by Kevin McGeever has revealed how he got caught up in the former property tycoon's faked abduction.

Kevin Cooke, a property developer from Carragh, Co Kildare, was bundled into the back of a van, with a hood over his head, and brought to visit him in his supposed place of captivity.

As a result, he became the sole witness to Mr McGeever's faked kidnapping, leading to his arrest by gardai. They suspected that he was in on the whole charade but later concluded that he was a pawn in Mr McGeever's game.
