SO, the Central Bank has told the Government it should not ease back on austerity. "This temptation must be resisted" it said, using good old fashioned religious language to enforce its message.
The Central Bank say no. The IMF say no. Austerity is what the Irish need ... and that's what they're going to get.
They may be right. The Government may be right. What's galling is the continued assertion that the Irish people – "we" – brought our current plight down on our own heads.
