Being cut from McCartney cloth didn't hurt Stella in stellar career
'WHO are you wearing?", asks Stella McCartney gleefully of pop star Rita Ora in the press room at the British Fashion Award – tongue firmly in her cheek. Another celebrity sensation boards the fashion designer's red carpet express, which garnered Paul McCartney's most famous progeny the night's most coveted gongs at the sartorial shindig.
This is a year Stella should not forget for some time. Though the 'Designer of the Year' paperweight she received from her peers on Tuesday night is surrounded by the begrudgery of fashion die-hards, no one can argue that the Stella McCartney label was undeserving of 'Designer Brand of the Year'.
Red carpets and press calls were awash with Stella's conspicuous faux-silhouette dresses, lace print day-pyjamas and awkward tuxedo tailoring. Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Moss, Nicole Kidman, Rihanna and Kate Winslet are a small few A-list celebrities who have endorsed her line this year.
