Behan there, done that for freed Sinn Fein president
Gerry Adams quoted Brendan Behan on Twitter as he was released by police after questioning. "Brendan Behan on release from gaol was told 'It must be great to be free'. 'It must,' he said."
The tipsy republican writer once got into trouble with the IRA. Behan, right, once recalled: "I was court-martialled in my absence, and sentenced to death in my absence, so I said they could shoot me in my absence."
Perhaps Adams is no longer a big name down with the kids. Presenter Maia Dunphy noted via Twitter how she was skimming through the Irish Independent when the youngster sitting next to her spotted a Belfast mural of the toothsome Sinn Féin godfather. "Oh Rolf Harris!" he exclaimed.
