The songwriter who discovered Lady Gaga has won US$7.3 million from the pop sensation's former manager.

Wendy Starland teamed up with pop producer Robert Fusari in a search for a "unique singer" she said in legal documents.

She discovered Gaga in 2006, after an eight-month hunt and introduced her to Fusari, who shaped her into the superstar Mother Monster.

Starland claimed he reneged on their deal to split the profits from her career, but did not receive a penny.
