Consumers are being urged to shop locally this month to give a much-needed boost to the Irish economy.

Irish retail promoters Champion Green are asking every adult in the country to spend an extra €50 in November that would give a much needed €180m boost to the economy which has been hit by the Covid-19 lockdown.

The promoters established last year’s successful Green Friday shopping campaign.

Now they are asking consumers to buy from Irish online retailers and service providers instead of international online retail giants, many of whom are extending the so-called 'Black Friday' shopping spree to the entire month of November this year instead of just one day or weekend.
