Tyra Banks "open" to adoption
Tyra Banks is “definitely” open to adoption.
The supermodel-and-TV star has spoken about her desire to be a mother. Tyra is open to thinking outside the box when it comes to starting a family, so won’t necessarily follow the traditional path.
“I will have children, whether they come out of me or come to me,” she told Access Hollywood Live on Tuesday. “I’m open to [adopting]. I’m definitely open. I’ve been wanting to do that since before it was cool.”
Tyra has dreamed of raising kids ever since she can remember. The 38-year-old star's forward thinking outlook can be traced back to her childhood.
“Since I was nine years old, I’d be like, ‘Mommy! I want a baby, but it don’t have to be my baby and I can take it from over there and I can raise the baby.’ She’s like, ‘That’s called adoption,’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah, mommy, I want to do that.’ So, since I was nine,” she recalled.
The star went on to reveal she is “dating” but not currently in a serious relationship.
When she is committed to a guy, she prefers to keep the romance out of the public spotlight.
“It’s just very private and they’re not famous. That’s why people don’t think I’m doing anything,” she explained.
Tyra is currently gracing the small screen in the US with season 20 of America’s Next Top Model, which is the first cycle to feature male as well as female contestants.
