Saoirse's star keeps on rising with every movie
AT THE ripe old age of 13, Saoirse Ronan got the nod from the Academy and was nominated for an Oscar for her role as Briony in Atonement.
Six years later, her star is still in the ascendant, with two big roles so far this year – one as Gemma Arterton's on-screen daughter in Neil Jordan's Byzantium and now the lead part in How I Live Now.
Due to hit our screens in the autumn, this movie, which has been adapted from the award-winning novel by Meg Rosoff, charts the journey of a rebellious American teenager, Daisy (Saoirse Ronan), who spends the summer with her cousins on their farm in England.
The cousins have the run of this bohemian estate, and love blossoms for Daisy after she falls for one of her cousins. But everything changes when a 21st-century Third World War breaks out. 'How I Live Now' will be in cinemas from October 4
