Looking dapper in a two-piece suit, movie veteran Gabriel Byrne attended the premiere of his latest movie, Capital, this week in Dublin's Cineworld.
Although they walked the red carpet separately, it didn't go unnoticed that the 62-year-old's new girlfriend (below), Hannah King, was particularly photogenic, should she ever wish to take advantage of it.
As she stayed in the background, Byrne accompanied the film's director, Costa Gavras.
Hailing the necessity of promoting independently made features and the importance of the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival, Byrne expressed his joy to reunite with Gavras – one of the first film-makers he worked with at the beginning of his career.
Aoibhinn McGinnity, Ursula Hannigan and Carrie Crowley also attended the screening, while across town at the Lighthouse cinema, Killian Scott of award-winning drama Love/Hate joined his Black Ice cast members for its official premiere as part of the festival.
After posing with a line-up of cars used on set, the 27-year-old told The Diary that he was feeling "quite nervous".
"I always get a little nervous and apprehensive when something I've been in comes out.
"You just want it to do well and wonder how it will be received by the audiences."
The star, who has become something of a red-carpet regular recently, will reunite with Tom Vaughan Lawlor and Peter Coonan on the Love/Hate set next week.
The JDIFF rounds up its programme of events tomorrow.
