It's party time in the new socialite HQ -- Wicklow 4
Forget Dublin 4. All right, I know you'd all forgotten it a long time ago -- this recession is now five years old and that's an aeon in a socialite's mind.
Just think Wicklow 4 -- as Ashford in Co Wicklow is affectionately known these days. Do you still have to be born in Wicklow to buy a house there? Remind me to check.
Anyway, if you doubt the sheer chiciness of Wicklow just look at this clutch of names -- Cha Cha Seigne, Sarah Owens, Catherine FitzGerald and Dominic West, Guggi, Suki Stuart, Alexandra McGuinness, Arabella Annesley -- erotic is the only word for it. Add in Bono, Paolo Tullio and Chris de Burgh, to say nothing of Arabella's father, Sir Richard Annesley, who lives in Spain and you have -- well -- vintage as well.
Anyway, all these glorious people are coming together in the garden of Ireland in July when Mark Reynolds throws a big beano (very unWicklow word) for his lovely partner, socialite and wine expert, Arabella, at their palatial new home in the Newcastle area of Wicklow.
The bash (even more unWicklow) is to celebrate Arabella's 40th birthday as well as warming their new home. As if that wasn't enough joy, Mark's daughter, Coco, is expecting a baby with her actor/property developer partner Paul Ryan in September.
They celebrated the good news, as well as marking Paul's birthday, with a Sunday lunch at The Four Seasons in Ballsbridge (followed by drinks with friends at O'Brien's on Leeson Street). Coco already has one son, Orlando, from a former relationship.
The whole thing was what you would call a lovely party. Party -- that's the word we were looking for.
