Felix English is a well-known professional cyclist based here. Titles he has claimed include the National Criterium Championship – and the U-23 talent is already in form after having a very successful bout in Australia's Herald Sun Tour.

The British-born Irishman rides for Ireland with the UCI Continental team, Rapha Condor JLT and for the national team.

English's team-mates describe him as quirky, hilarious and very likeable. As a team member, he is devoted and loyal.

This year, English is more focused and driven than ever – and is putting a lot of emphasis on nutrition and training whereas, in the past, his focus was not as clear-cut.

Felix went to Australia in mid-November 2013 to prepare for the Bay Crits pro-series that took place in January. His sprinting abilities are proving top-notch, after he took the sprints classification overall during the Bay Crits, and then sprinted to third place in last week's Herald Sun Tour.

With two impressive jerseys and a sizeable amount of UCI points – English remains in stealth mode, forever tailoring his mindset to prep for the next big race.

He plans to return to the UK to race for a month, and will be targeting the Tour of Normandie in March. With Ireland's cycling talent rising to the top so early in the season, who knows what can happen – it is quite possible English will climb many more podiums in the future.
