Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have "consciously uncoupled"

Gwyneth Paltrow last night she took to her webiste to declare she and Coldplay rocker Chris Martin had "consciously uncoupled", that's split up to you and me.

But it's not the first time the actress and lifestyle guru has more than minced her words. Here are some of her musings that have got our blood boiling...

1. On hiring a new nanny for her kids:

“She’s French, so she’s teaching them French, and their previous nanny was Spanish, so they’re fluent in Spanish.”

2. On being who she is:

“I am who I am. I can’t pretend to be somebody who makes $25,000 a year.”

3. On achieving her fabulously toned body:

“Every woman can make time  to work out — every woman — and you can do it with your baby in the room. There have been countless times where I’ve worked out with my kids crawling around all over the place. You just make it work."

4. What her kids are into:

“Moses is obsessed with hip-hop and wanted a gold chain like his uncle Jay-Z.”

5. On eating processed cheese:

“I’d rather smoke crack than eat cheese from a tin.”

6.  On the trouble with weekend breaks:

“When you go to Paris and your concierge sends you to some restaurant because they get a kickback, it’s like, ‘No. Where should I really be? Where is the great bar with organic wine?"

7. On adhering to a strict diet:

“During the strict macrobiotic chapter of my life, I ate miso soup every day for breakfast and sometimes with dinner as well.”

8. On making mistakes:

“One evening when I had my wood-burning stove going I realised I hadn’t thought of dessert.”

9.  On music preferences:

“He (Chris Martin) can’t have background music on. It has to be 100 pc of his attention. But if he isn’t at home, I turn on the hip-hop. I’m like a bad mutha rapping along to every word as I cook.”

10.  On not eating meat:

"A  lecture from Leonardo DiCaprio about how such animals are kept and processed, made me lose my desire for factory farm pork and beef right there.”
