Weekender with Miss Ireland Aoife O'Sullivan
Kinsale is close to where I grew up in Ballinadee, Co Cork. As I've grown older, I realise how lucky it is to live near such a beautiful town on the Wild Atlantic Way.
For the weekend, I'd stay in a boutique townhouse hotel called the Old Bank House, right in the town centre.

There are more restaurants per square mile than Dublin, so you're spoiled for choice. My favourite is the White Lady, which has a cosy candlelit bar for casual dining. For some live music and drinks, both the Silent Banjo or Kitty O Se's are in walking distance.
On Saturday morning, I'd head to the Lemon Leaf Cafe, which has a beautiful outdoor seating area and the best brunch in Kinsale.
This can be followed by a walk along the waterfront towards the Scilly Walk, a beautiful walking path along the coast. There are great bars to stop off at, with great views, like The Spaniard Inn and The Bulman Bar.
Saturday night should be spent at the Man Friday restaurant - make sure to book a table in the outdoor seating area looking over the harbour.
On Sunday, I'd drive to Ballinspittle, for a spot of brunch in a quirky cafe called Diva. Then you can take a walk on the Old Head of Kinsale, which is as good as the Cliffs of Moher, in my opinion.
Miss Ireland Aoife O'Sullivan is a judge of 'Best Hat and Most Dapper Gent', at the g hotel's Ladies' Day Galway Races after-party, on Thursday, August 1.
