Uma lights up Stockholm

Actress Uma Thurman glowed with happiness when she turned up at the Stockholm International Film Festival to pick up the Bronshästen Award for her contribution to film, including roles in Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction.

The 44-year-old mum-of-three managed to wow fans who had turned up in Stockholm for a quick glimpse of her.

No doubt Thurman also got to enjoy the beauty of Stockholm, as thanks to being built on 14 islands and with barely any high-rise buildings, the city has a unique and impressive landscape.

And should an unbroken skyline not be enough for you, you can take a trip on the SkyView gondola, a glass lift which takes people to the top of the world's largest spherical building, the Ericsson Globe, a Stockholm landmark.

Another attraction is The Vasa Museum, which is home to the only preserved 17th-century ship in the world.
