A G1 geomagnetic storm has been captured in timelapse over the Giant's Causeway just this week.
You don't have to visit Iceland or Scandinavia to see the Northern Lights.
Just a few days ago, Aurora Borealis displays lit up the night skies over the North York Moors and Oban, Scotland.
Now, a series of timelapse loop clips has captured a night sky awash with colour over the Giant's Causeway on the Co. Antrim coast.
The footage (above) was captured by Martin McKenna (nightskyhunter.com) on the night of September 9/10, with the Northern Lights giving a spectacular early show.
The Aurora can be seen in Ireland, but their rare appearances are usually confined to winter months.
