WATCH: Wild Atlantic Way gets its first TV ad - see it here first!
Three years since its launch, Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way is getting its first ever TV ad - a 30-second commercial airing today.
Since its debut in 2014, the 2,500km touring route has rebooted the west coast as a visitor attraction, and been hailed as one of Ireland's most successful tourism initiatives.
Despite numerous cinema, online, print and radio ads, however - today's release is the first time Fáilte Ireland has ever advertised the route on TV.
The 30-second ad (watch above) invites viewers to embrace "the Wild Atlantic Way of life", a place "where catching up means slowing down".
It was created for Fáilte Ireland by the Dublin-based Rothco agency, with a sountrack featuring 'Don't mind me' by Irish band Walking on Cars.
Donegal's Fanad Lighthouse, Valentia Island, Derrigimlagh in Connemara, Keem Bay, Mullaghmore, Ballinskelligs and the Cliffs of Moher all feature.
The closing frames show sunset on Achill Island - where the recent 'return' of a sandy beach at Dooagh Bay, thanks to a storm, has delighted locals.
