Travel TV: First look inside the new Aer Lingus Business Class

Join Pól Ó Conghaile for an exclusive first look inside Aer Lingus's brand new Business Class.

Aer Lingus is spending €25 million on a revamp of its Business Class cabins, with lie-flat seats, HD entertainment systems and slick new trimmings replacing the old fit out.

But the brand new Business Class is about far more than fancy seats.

Aer Lingus is competing with several huge American carriers on its transatlantic routes, and it's hoping a fresh focus on Irish food, Pre-Clearance facilities and dining in its Irish and American lounges - among other initiatives - will give it an edge.

So how has the money been spent? Can the new, 'boutique' fit-out compete in a cut-throat market? And do those seats really, truly, lie flat?

Watch this week's TRAVEL TV for the first, inside track.
